The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world shared condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
