Kai Trump will have multiple well-known supporters as she makes her first LPGA appearance later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, received a special exemption to compete at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, possesses multiple international courses and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she revealed.
Kai explained that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He practically told me to go out there and have fun," she added.
"In my eyes, he's just an ordinary family member. He can't make it for the tournament. He's busy with presidential duties, so he's rather occupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has competed in only three events this year and maintains position 461 in AJGA rankings.
But she's able to seek guidance from golf legend, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"Additionally, he's an even better person. He suggested me to compete, relax, and go with whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against some of most prominent players in women's golf at the competition, including world number two the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that her participation exposes the sport to different demographics, specifically with the next generation.
The young star has millions of followers and has started a personal clothing and lifestyle brand.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
