As he approaches his six-year milestone in charge, Mikel Arteta has made it clear that his continued role with the club is inextricably linked to delivering trophies.

Reflecting on: Six Years in Charge

The former Arsenal captain was appointed on December 20th, 2019 and managed to steer the team to an cup win within months. Yet, that early success stands as his only top-tier trophy since succeeding Unai Emery.

“Absolutely,” he stated when questioned about staying beyond 2027. “But it’s about today. And a lot of things have to happen in the near future as well to earn the right.”

The manager referenced the record-breaking achievements as a sign they are nearing their goal. “You look at the performances, all the historical marks we surpassed... We still haven’t managed to do that [win trophies]. But that indicates the caliber we've reached.”

He finished by saying, “This is a standard that the Premier League has not witnessed in the past. And our ambition is to achieve greater objectives. And if we do that, I think we are on the right path to winning.”
