A female accused with harassing Kate McCann allegedly deposited her a phone message which questioned: "suppose I am Madeleine?"
The defendant, twenty-four, who witnesses stated has consistently claimed she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are standing trial accused with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.
On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard phone records and data retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test during 2023 and 2024.
Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a trip in Portugal - is among the most publicized missing child cases and continues to be unresolved.
One recorded message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt declaring: "I understand I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I feel what I know."
While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "Imagine there is a small chance that I am she? What then? Wouldn't that be important for you?"
"I don't want money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I just want to understand," she added.
The tribunal was informed that via electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a effort to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a early life with the McCanns.
An intelligence analyst, a data specialist with the police force who gathered the data, advised the court there "seemed to lack any responses" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt also reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.
On that date, the father responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "a wrong number."
On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I won't give up and I plan to establish my point."
The court learned the co-defendant developed a association online with Ms Wandelt prior to accompanying her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in last December.
Call logs revealed Mrs Spragg had contacted through WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to state the press had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she ought to be treated respectfully in the time before the appearance to Rothley, that area, in December 2024.
The court heard correspondence between the two defendants, in November 2024, planning endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from silverware at a dining venue.
"We have to make a stand," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.
On the night of the appearance to their residence, Mrs Spragg sent a message which said: "We are sitting adjacent to the McCanns' house with our lights out like detectives. I wanted to do this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
The case proceeds.
