Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield

A jet carrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.

"The jet touched down in accordance with standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson said in a public statement.

Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.

This event is not the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has encountered technical problems.

Earlier this year, a American military jet transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to return to Washington after suffering a technical issue.
