I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
